Nominations open for the Young Courage Award 2025

For the first time, Aotearoa New Zealand has been invited to participate in the international prize for moral courage – the Young Courage Award – organised by the Raoul Wallenberg Academy in Stockholm, Sweden. The Young Courage Award is a non-political recognition that honors people between the ages of 13 and 20 who have made a difference in the lives of their fellow human beings and shown evidence of moral courage and commitment. The nomination process is simple. If you know a young person who has stood up for others and made a positive impact in their communities or schools, you are invited to send their name and a short motivation (100 words or less) to ambassaden.canberra-events@gov.se no later than Monday 31 March 2025. In addition to receiving official diplomas, potential recipients (a maximum of two per country) will be invited to the official ceremony in Stockholm on the Raoul Wallenberg Remembrance Day, Wednesday 27 August 2025. The Embassy and the RWA will cover their expenses (plane ticket, accommodation, and food) to attend the official ceremony in Sweden at the end of August 2025. If you have any queries, please direct them to: ambassaden.canberra-events@gov.se
